First Recruit Cast List

Ezio Auditore: currently 41 years old and is a master assassin and soon to be mentor of the Italian Brotherhood. He is also Desmond's ancestor and adoptive father, though the cover story is that Desmond aka Malik is his bastard son.

Maria Auditore: Ezio and Claudia's mother. A stern yet fair woman who views the working class as the true citizens of whatever city she resides in. She lost her husband and two of her three sons twenty four years ago. Maria loves her grandson Malik despite the unorthodox way he was introduced to them.

Claudia Auditore: Ezio's younger sister. Currently 39 years old. She's a hot head and feisty but loving and kind to those she calls family and friends. She can be a pain to her nephew but when it matters she shows Malik that he can always come to her should he need her help.

Desmond Miles: The descendant of Altaïr ibn-La'Ahad, Ezio Auditore, Edward Kenway, Haytham Kenway and Ratonhnhakē:ton. He is Cypher, the savior of Humanity. Yet when he died, he didn't expect to be waking up in 1500 Rome. Meeting Ezio Auditore is the start of his new life

Malik Auditore da Maysf: Ezio's Bastard son, and the cover story to explain Desmond in the past. Sixteen years old and thrilled to have a family. He's proving skilled already. He gets along with most people, expect Machiavelli.

Niccolo Machiavelli: a bad tempered young man currently in charge of the brotherhood. He seems to not like Malik and has said as much. Getting slapped in the process.

Leonardo Da Vinci: Ezio's best friend of twenty four years and a master artist. He's a well known procrastinator but so beloved by the community that it's overlooked. Currently in the care of the Borgia he's forced to make war machines and he is unhappy.

Clay Kazmarek: effectively replacing Sali (sorry he just doesn't sit well with me) Clay is Leonardo's apprentice and secret lover. He also assists Leo like reminding him to eat and sleep.

Update 6/20/2024 1AM:

Shay Patrick Cormac: Somehow this assassin hunter was reborn in 16th century Rome. Malik recruits and trains him in the brotherhood telling him that Lisbon wasn't his fault.

Haytham Edward Kenway: The Templar Grandmaster was reborn in 16th century Rome as well as Shay. Though seeing Ezio as reasonable and compatiant chose to work with the newly minted Mentor.

i had a thought, eventually headcanon, where each of the members assigned nicknames for each other, as the suits in a deck of cards. of course, there are four suits: heart, diamond, clover, and spade, so i thought of shakes having one of these suits as his nickname since he's the fourth ace member unofficially lol

i pitched this headcanon to @abyss-strikas and she suggested that 'spade' should be assigned to shakes, just for alliteration LOL (though days later i found out that they have the 'spade' logo on their jerseys the entire time but whatever lol)

I keep thinking about how on earth they would canonize ggy bc like. at this point if they have to sacrifice Gregory screentime of just him to make something we already know actually canon, I would rather just take the screentime, but on the other hand they have to canonize it if they want to do anything at all with that plotline, and that makes me wonder if theyll stick with it as canon in the games at all or just leave it as background knowledge if u read the book 😭

It's kinda funny because w/ my Zeus kid OC (who I've been thinking about renaming as Araceli, 'cause it means altar of the sky, apparently, which I like 'cause sky-themed-ish but also like. A little bit I wanted something that meant cloud the way Coral's name means... Coral) the implication is that she takes after her father to an almost mirroring degree because I developed her and my other PJO OCs (who also all got retconned into an OG work) at the same time I was playing around with my ideas on the Big Six, and the gist at the time was supposed to show how the Big Six could've turned out if they weren't so weird.

So the dynamics of the friendship was supposed to be very similar to the dynamics of Big Six's relationship to each other (e.g. Mary having a major crush on Hera's "representative" but also being attracted to literally every other person that walked by, Nico being the soberminded big brother figure, etc). It's also one of the reasons Mary would get angry whenever someone would compare to her dad, because similarly I think Zeus would get angry if someone compared him to his dad.

And then eventually as I got older and the daydream moved around with whatever obsession I had at the time, the characters and general storyline began to change away from that in some ways but core features sort of stayed and so I ended up with a version of Zeus that ignores his daughter's pleas for help because he loves her but her pain hurts him because he can't do anything about it and it's his fault she's suffering.

She got this intensity from him, it's ingrained into the way it's ingrained in him. But he was able to rebuild the world according to his own needs and wants and beliefs. And she can't really do that. So he doesn't have any advice he can give her when she's on her knees begging for help with all the noise and pain in her head. He doesn't know what to do! It's like he can just go and rip it out of her.

But she's suffering because she's different and she's weird and she knows it and she knows it's his fault which is why she's asking but he just doesn't know and he can't handle watching her suffering and listening to her cry when there is no helpful answer to give her because "I don't know" isn't going to fix it.

He's supposed to fix things, he's supposed to have the answers. He's king of the world, by damn! He's a problem solver. He supposed to have a solution, and a million backup solutions. But he doesn't! There's nothing he can do to make the noise stop because truth be told, the noise never really stopped for him! It just got easier and quieter. So he turns away from her because he loves her and he's failing her and he can't handle that.

But also in the same breath, I think he recognizes similar aspects of himself in Jason, who isn't even asking for help, and fucking despises him for it, lol.

Who was your favourite mario character as a kid, and who is it now?

honestly? that's a pretty tough question for me to answer, because i played a lot of mario games growing up, and i don't know if younger me would've been able to choose a favourite. in terms of established characters, i think a safe option would likely be bowser; he was always my pick in Mario Kart 64, Melee, and Brawl. though in terms of the entire series as a whole, i liked the luigis mansion ghost designs a lot.

a favourite nowadays? i'm not quite sure. if i had to pick an established character, it'd probably be wario or waluigi. in terms of the entire series, i like the Mario Sunshine boos design a lot... but that's narrowing it down too small because i like a whole lot of designs from the franchise, so it's really hard to pinpoint.

rhaenyra isn't my fave, but she's been coded as bi from the very beginning. those people can cope and seethe.

I remember where I was when I saw "Rhaenyra (flirting)" in the script for 1x01, it's not even coding if it's just straight in the text for the actors that Rhaenyra is meant to be played as having an attraction towards women. Rhaenyra has ALWAYS been bi and anyone who disagrees can drown, it's canon and will forever be canon.

Kazuo Kitano : like that one 90s heartthrob that everyone is so in love with, including jackucho. He has that one-curtain hairstyle, the smile, and looks like eun jiwon, a city boy. He's so self-aware of jackucho's presence but honestly, I swear he's bored of her. Jackucho ran into him one night of 1998 in the mori mart where and that's when she found her shoujo prince 🤴

Mayumi Furuya : cunt 90s business woman, loves her job, loves it more than her husband, not more than her daughter though. ( the daughter she was begging was a son but okay ) . . . While Mayumi is not thrilled that she's back on this island... again except permanently, she's a little more less on edge because, almost half of her inlaws are like... deceased = meaning less nagging/critique. Honestly, she pretends to give into jackucho's whining but in reality she's in no rush to leave.

Embarrassing Tea

Bobo quite enjoyed having weekly tea time with Rook. The hunter would like to have these daily, but Bobo wasn’t willing to risk losing time for studying. Their tea times would be Rook’s way of asking Bobo any questions he had about her. Sure, back home such questions would have been annoying, but now it offered as a way to indulge in her homesickness. Especially since Rook was quite willing to hear all about her world.

“Ah… well… when it comes to confessions of love, there is a period of time that most people indulge in that. There’s a very sweet-tasting mushroom that grows for roughly a month once a year. Those who want to confess their feelings will cultivate some and gift them to the one they wish to confess to. Though it’s not only romantic love that’s celebrated during this time!” Bobo paused, a bit embarrassed to have raised her voice. She took a sip of the tea Rook had brought.

“Oh? What other kinds of love are celebrated?” Rook encouraged, giving her his rapt attention like always.

“Well, familial and platonic love… A year-round yellow mushroom that’s easy to cultivate is the one friends will give to each other. It has a rather mellow taste. As for familial, there’s this green mushroom that grows at the same time as the pink ones, though for a longer stretch of time, that people will give. My caretaker’s boyfriend actually gave me some last year… It’s a little funny now that I think about it. I know Beau so much more than I know him, yet he was bold enough to declare himself as an uncle to me.” Bobo giggled, smiling down at her cup.

Rook narrowed his eyes slightly. Bobo usually tried to avoid giving any names of those from her world.

“Merveilleux!” Rook suddenly exclaimed, only slightly surprising Bobo. She glanced up, quirking an eyebrow at him. He leaned over the table, clasping her hands with his own.

“You truly let yourself relax a little around me, don’t you, Trickster?” Rook asked, causing her to stiffen slightly. He tutted at that, letting her go as he shook his head. “We’re friends, no? Why are you so scared to let your guard down, amie?”

“Ah…” Bobo let out a soundless laugh, “Sorry… I’ve always had to watch how I present myself unless it’s only my caretakers around me. Plus this set-up… I used to have tea with… that annoying girl, who I couldn’t afford an actual fight breaking out between us.” Bobo let out a sigh, giving Rook a weary look. “I really share a little too much with you, I feel. Even if the possibility that you could use such info against me is rather quite low.”

“Yet you’re more carefree around Monsieur Heart and Monsieur Spade. Have I not proved myself as a worthy le compagnon?” Rook moved his chair from across from her to beside her. He took off his hat, holding it to his chest in a bout of showy playfulness.

“I spend a lot of time with those two… they look after me, and while you do too, I think the amount of time together has caused me to be so lax around them.” Bobo ducked her head slightly as she gave him a sheepish smile.

“The chase can be fun too. One day, you’ll manhandle me about.” Rook smiled up at the sky, returning his hat to his head. Bobo laughed, shaking her head at his odd eagerness. She leaned over, grabbing his hat to tilt it over his face.

“You want to be manhandled? Well just do something dumb like those two do and I’ll likely do so.” Bobo and Rook chuckled. He fixed his hat, looking rather fondly at her. Bobo blinked, wondering why that look was making her feel embarrassed. She leaned back, pushing at his shoulder gently to create even more space.

“Back to the subject, there’s still more to the confession season. If the one who was gifted the mushrooms returns the feelings, they’ll commonly make a meal with said gifted shrooms. The meal is shared between them. That’s usually only with romantic-intention gifts though. Friends will give the shrooms to each other just to help celebrate that there’s more than just romantic relations, other kinds of love are important too. I ended up eating the shrooms given to me just as they were. Despite their bitter flavor, they are a nice, filling snack.”

“Ah what a beauté time! You must show me these mushrooms at some point.” Rook had scooted his chair away, giving her the space she desired. Bobo took another sip of her tea, taking the moment to shake off the odd feeling.

“I’ll have to consult Sam and Jade on if this world even has them. From some of my discussions with Jade, it seems like some mushrooms don’t exist in this world. Though I feel the sure-fire way to check is if Sam can’t get his hands on even any of the spores.” Bobo said.

“Quelle déception, is there not any other unique customs of yours to express such feelings?”

“Unique…. Oh! Maybe the way we kiss is unique? I recall some from the above kingdom would try to kiss my glove. Apparently it’s a way of greeting, specifically for men to greet women? Their ways are so weird. It’s not hygienic to kiss my gloves, they’re so careless when it comes to the risk of spores.” Bobo gave an exasperated exhale. “In the My- in my kingdom, there isn’t any kisses used for greetings. Where one kisses does show certain feelings though! Forehead kisses are shows of familial affection. Friends may kiss each others’ cheeks. On the lips is for those that are dating. And… and…”

Bobo took a swig of tea, forcing the growing embarrassment down her throat. “And a kiss near the corner of the lips is to flirt… to show one’s desire to date.” She pointedly avoided looking at Rook, feeling ridiculous for her face getting all heated over this.

“Magnifique! Your shy reactions are adorable, Trickster!” Rook’s reaction caused Bobo to hold her hands up in front of her face, hovering, hiding it. Rook simply clasped her hands, bringing them closer to himself. He leaned in, confusing her, as he brought his mouth near her ear.

“Has anyone given Trickster a flirty kiss before?” He softly teased. Bobo made some sort of choking sound, trying to jump back, but he kept a firm hold of her hands.

“O-of course not! I mean- Augh! If you make fun of me some more, then I’ll manhandle your face into the dirt!”

“Très bien! Show me the beauty of your passion!”

“Rooook!” Bobo pulled her hands free, standing up, completely flustered. Rook sat there, eagerly awaiting further action from her.

“That’s enough questions for today!” Bobo turned on her heel and bolted off. Rook blinked, actually surprised.

Deuce, Ace, and Grim were all startled as Bobo collided into Deuce. Deuce awkwardly hovered his hands around her elbows as she hid her face in his chest, gripping his shirt.

“Woah!” The heartslabyul duo exclaimed before Deuce spoke, “Prefect?! What’s wrong?!” Bobo pulled her head back so her reply would be clear to hear.

“Is shoving someone’s face in the dirt considered romantic in any of the customs in this world?”

“. . .”

“You’ve got to stop having tea with Rook, henchman.” Grim said.

“You were having tea with that oddball?!” Ace exclaimed. Bobo shoved her face into Deuce’s chest again.

“That’s why I was hanging out with you two without Bobo.” Grim responded.

“You really bring this kind of stuff onto yourself, Prefect.” Ace sighed, easing Bobo away from Deuce and to himself. He waited a moment, luring her into a sense of comfort before furiously rubbing his hand on the top of her head.

“Hey!” Bobo complained, pulling away from him to pull him down to her height to get at his hair. Ace laughed, trying to fight her off.

“What kind of conversation was the Prefect having with Rook?” Deuce asked Grim.

Well, I’m still glad that Gojo was always a character who was growing and learning at least. He’s literally one of my favorite characters of all time now. Like, he’s never been as perfect as how the fans would make him out to be despite canonically being viewed as an absolute nuisance to everyone around him (I don’t think his peers necessarily hate him but a lot of them probably hate to see him coming and the ones who’ve dealt with him long enough to consider him a friend, tolerate him and groan whenever he opens his mouth, too 😭… out of love. He’s extremely childish so there is only sm the other adults around him can take and to an extent, his students. I think the only characters in canon who adore him and their eye’s sparkle whenever he’s around, and being a silly teacher was Yuuji and Miwa (she asked him for his autograph (he’s the most famous sorcerer in the jjk world) and when she was alone, she did a little dance in the empty hallway 🥺…) from what we’ve seen even though the others still care about him, too. They just find him rather annoying, which he most definitely is. And he does it on purpose. He plays too much.)

i don't care if you don't like the way i characterized someone in my story!! shut up and get a better hobby than hating on something someone has spent hours creating and pouring love into and accusing them of hating one of their favorite characters because you think that the fic they wrote FOR FUN and NOT FOR YOU is bad characterization/makes the character flawed in a way that you don't like because you have a poor understanding of what makes fanfiction fanfiction (and also humans human tbh lol). sure, they're maybe more flawed than in the actual show, but THATS THE FUCKING POINT OF FANFICTION!!! IS THAT ITS NOT A REAL PART OF THE SHOW!!! AND ITS WRITTEN!!! FOR FUNNNNN!!!!! AND NOT FUCKING FOR YOU AND YOUR FUCK ASS OPINIONS SPECIFICALLY!!!!!!!! and if you think it sucks, i don't care!! you are entitled to your opinion!!!! hate it so so so much but get the fuck over yourself if you think that telling me it's horrible and unrealistic and somehow creating a bad wrap FOR MY FAVORITE CHARACTER IN THIS SHOW is somehow a meaningful usage of your time or gonna get me to delete the fic or stop liking it or stop promoting my own hard work !!!! i'm proud of the things i write and nothing will ever change that. i hope you know what a shitty shitty shitty (and embarrassing) thing it is to do to leave a whole paragraph of hate under someone's hard work just because they interpret a fictional fucking character in a way that you don't like. genuinely genuinely get the fuck over yourself and find a better way to spend your time than caring more about fictional characters than real life people.
